I am late finding out that Art passed. So sorry to hear about his transition. We worked together for a short while Lorton Prison in the 70's, along with Jim Robinson, Melvin Jones and me Sandra Dabela (at that time). We thought we could change the world and revamp the Prison System. My deepest condolences to the family.

Art was my best friend while we worked at the Holocaust Museum. Even though we came from very different backgrounds, we always had good times exchanging information, ideas, and views of the world.
I always missed him after I left. May he find his reward.

Sharman, to you and your family;
I and my family offers our deepest condolences on the Passing of your loving husband and my dear friend Art Brown. When I met Art; Mildred and I and my kids had no idea we had met a life long friend. Art was really a special friend to me. He was always so joyful and just made my day better anytime he called. Art also made a lasting impression on my pastor who never met Art in person only by phone doing a visit to DC last year. I had given him Art's number to call. When I told him that Art had pass you could here the regret and emotion in his voice. He spoke of Art from the pulpit doing church you could feel the sencerity in his voice and expression. Explaning that he never met Art personally ,but that Art was such a good brother that they connected spiritually. He also sends his condelences if he hasn't already. I attempted to call but could not get a connection. Sharman My Wife, Mildred, Kids; Sherry, Mitzi,Bobby (Art knew them all by name) all loved Art . God has you in his care and we will keep you in our prayers and ask that you keep us in yours and if there is something you may need us for do not hesitate to call,
Sincerely, Walter Nelson
