Lynn Downie Obituary
Lynn grew up in Somerville, MA and graduated from Somerville High School. After school, he honorably served his country in the United States Army as a helicopter mechanic during Vietnam. For over 48 years, he was a general contractor for his family owned business. An avid water skier and boater, he loved Lake Winnipesaukee so much that he built his home there. A car and motorcycle enthusiast, he loved working on cars with his son Colin. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching movies, especially Top Gun.
He is survived by his loving partner Barbara Mullin; daughter Chandra Rand and husband Donald; sons Lynn Downie and wife Michelle, Chuck Downie and wife Stephanie, Colin Downie and wife Lisa; sister Barbara Riggins; 17 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 3rd from 12pm to 2pm at McHugh Funeral Home located at 283 Hanover St, Manchester NH, with a service beginning at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lynn's honor May be made to the American Cancer Society.
