William Valentine Obituary

LEHMAN — William "Bill" A. Valentine, 78, of Lehman, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the Kadima Rehab and Nursing at Lakeside, Harveys Lake.

He was born in Wilkes-Barre on June 5, 1942 and was the son of the late William, Jr. and Agnes Tompkins Valentine.

Bill graduated from Meyers High School and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Columbus College of Art and Design, Ohio. He was owner/operator of his own farm in Lehman. Bill enjoyed taking fishing trips with his father to Canada. He was a lifetime member of the American Hereford Association. Bill enjoyed a cold beer or a glass of wine at the end of a hard day's work, as well as the occasional shot of blackberry brandy, especially when the weather got cold.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Nancy Byrne and aunt, Margaret Hukill.

William is survived by nephews, Michael and Patrick Byrne; Aunt Helen and Uncle Barry Wascheck; and numerous cousins; his close friends include Jamie Fisher, Lance Blue, Dale Sutton, Larry LaBar, Willard Lansberry, Pete Hillard, Pat Salansky, and P.J. Salansky.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021 from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Laura Kyler of the Lehman-Idetown United Methodist Church officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Lehman Center Cemetery.
