Michael Schutt Obituary

On Tuesday, a beautiful soul left this world to join his family above. Michael E. Schutt, Jr., has fought the good fight, has finished the course, and has kept the faith. He is now standing watch above to give protection and guidance to those he loves.
Born June 5, 1987, son of Michael E., Sr., and Marianne Berkosky Schutt, of Exeter, Michael graced this world with his presence. A 2005 graduate of Wyoming Area, where he was a member of the wrestling team, Michael joined the Army National Guard and proudly served his country with honor and courage in Afghanistan. For the past 13 years, he was employed by Chase Prison, SCI Dallas.
Michael was a private man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had a love for all animals, especially his dog, Howitzer, and cat, “Abra”. Michael enjoyed shooting darts in the league with his dad, gaming, “pushing the button”, and had a passion for Jeeps and “mudding” in the woods. Extremely talented, he won several awards at the Keystone Games for Karate and took first place in Battle for Boston. His impact on the lives he touched will never be forgotten, and his selflessness in his service to his country was once again exemplified by his donation to Gift of Life.
Along with his parents, surviving are many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Paternal grandparents, James David Schutt and Rosemary DeAngelo, and maternal grandparents, Adam and Eleanor Berkosky, preceded him in death.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10 AM in St. Barbara Parish, 28 Memorial Street, Exeter, to be celebrated by Msgr. Joseph G.Quinn. Entombment with Military Honors to follow in Cathedral Cemetery.
Those who will be attending are asked to kindly go directly to the church.
Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 2-5 PM in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main Street, Old Forge.
Memorial contributions may be made to Joint Task Force 22 to Zero, c/o NBT Bank, 455 Market Street, Kingston, PA 18704, or the Lehigh County Humane Society, 640 Dixon St., Allentown, PA 18103.

I've known Mike since the 6th grade and it's hard to believe that he has passed on. I'll never forget all the good times i've had the pleasure of having with him even as we grew up. As we grow up though life gives us new paths and new adventures. Mike was a brave soldier and a brother, in our hearts you will never be forgotten, now life has given you a new adventure, rest now my brother!
