John Latin Parker, 72, of Greenfield, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.
He was born Aug. 25, 1949, in Chillicothe, Ohio, the son of Drew and Jewell (Williams) Parker, Sr.
John was a 1967 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was an avid deer hunter and owned and operated Parker Lumber in Greenfield with his wife for many years. He attended Solid Rock Church of God with his wife, Linda, where they were very active members.
He is survived by three sons, John (Jessie) Parker of Hillsboro, Chris (Sherry) Parker of Greenfield and Joseph (Kristen) Parker of Dover; nine grandchildren, Josh (Callie) Parker, Chris M. (Erin) Parker, Emily Parker, Ashton Stultz, Heather Parker, Brianna Parker (Branden Gilbert), Allie Parker, Gavyn Parker and Jaxson Parker; one great-grandson, Noah Parker; two brothers, Drew B. (Sandy) Parker and Steven (Mary Jane) Parker; two sisters, Marsha Parker and Ann (George) Garinger; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Parker, of 49 years on Jan. 26, 2022; one sister, Flora Kathryn "Kathy" Parker Wolffe; and both parents.
A celebration of life will be from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield, concluded by military rites provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield. A reception will follow at the Solid Rock Church of God, 871 S.R. 28 E., Greenfield.
In lieu of flowers, the family has set up an account at Merchants National Bank to help with medical expenses in both John and Linda Parker's name.
