Martha White Obituary

Martha Oehrle White, 72, was born October 8, 1949, in Louisville, KY. After residing in Solano County for nearly 50 years, she passed away April 24, 2022, in Vallejo, CA.Martha grew up in Louisville, KY, and graduated from Westport High School in 1967. She always valued education, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Spanish and a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology.Martha served as the President of the Fairfield Parent Preschool while her children were young, and then worked as the Co-Director of Christian Education at Community Presbyterian Church in Vacaville. After earning her Teaching Credential, she was hired by the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District, where she was a teacher first at Falls Elementary School and spent the rest of her career at Oakbrook Elementary School.In her retirement, Martha became a Master Gardener, volunteering countless hours to the Solano County community as she shared her passion for gardening. She also loved quilting and reading, and spending time with her grandkids.Martha was preceded in death by her father, John Oehrle; mother, Eleanor Oehrle; sister, Joyce Shawler; stepbrother, Jerry Hughes; and stepsister, Linda Hughes. She is survived by son, Chris; daughter, Karen (Justin) Corpron; bonus daughter, Sharyl (Peyton) Dixon; and grandchildren, Jake, Nick, and Audrey.A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Davis Community Church, 412 C Street, Davis CA.Memorial donations may be sent to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
