Donald Kern Sr. Obituary

Donald Alger Kern Sr., 77, of Glen Burnie, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on August 31, 2024.  He was born in Baltimore to the late James Alger and Doris Alice Kern.  He honorably served in the Navy and went on to work for Verizon as a cable splicing technician, retiring after many years of service.  Don enjoyed working out, shooting pool, going to Johnny’s Family Restaurant in Pasadena and loved spending time with his family.

 Don is survived by his loving sons, Donald A. Kern Jr. and Aron Kern; cherished grandchildren, Liesel Kern, Kristen Koviloff, Lindsey Kern and Allison Kern; beloved great-grandchildren, Dimitrius, Dahlia, Azzi, Tate and Gunner; dear sister, Suzanne Ellison and brother-in-law, Bruce Ellison; and his loving nephew, Jason Ellison.

 Family and friends are invited to gather at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Avenue S.W. (at Crain Hwy), Glen Burnie, on Thursday, Sept. 19th, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM.  A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held on Friday, 10 AM, in the funeral home chapel.  Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
