Kathryn GUIDO Obituary

GUIDO, Kathryn A. 88, of Tampa, FL, died January 24, 2024. Born August 25, 1935 in Johnson City, NY to John H. Miller and Irene Cook, sister to Jack Miller Jr. of Schenevus. She married William Stacknow, Long Island 1955 before moving to Waymart, PA. She was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker for 25 years. From 1979-1985 she worked for Cove Haven. In Tampa she worked 20 years at Bank of America on Hillsborough Ave. Kathryn is remembered for her kindness and ability to make friends through conversation with anyone. She had a deep love for nature and animals especially her beloved canine companions, treasured the simple beauty and small joys of life, had a knack for turning the mundane into something beautiful and memorable, was a voracious reader and shared that love with her granddaughter. She enjoyed cooking and baking deliciousness, adventuring new places and time travel through antiquing. She is survived by her second husband of 37 years, David Guido of Tampa; daughter, Rebecca Stacknow of Vero Beach; granddaughter, Brittany Kostiha of Stewartstown, PA; and dearest loyal friend, Janet Pepe of Tobyhanna, PA. A memorial mass will be held at St. Lawrence Church 5225 N. Himes Ave on Friday Feb.16, 2024 at 10:15 am.

My dear friend of 45 years. I will never forget the day I met you. We hit it off and spent a lot of time together. The horror movies at the drive in, delicious food at Pernas restaurant after work and our shopping trips to NJ are such great memories. You always made everything special, always putting others before yourself. I can honestly say I´ve never met a more selfless person. Our conversations about Rebecca and Brittany beamed with love and pride. Your love for your pups Duchess, Aubergine, Rufus and Max was immeasurable. I will miss our daily talks and your thoughtfulness. I know you are pain free and surrounded by loved ones and beauty. My prayers and condolences go out to your family. I love you and will miss you terribly.

Kathryn was such a big part of my childhood. I loved going to visit her, Rebecca and Bill. I loved when they came to our home. I will never forget her!
