Michael P. Koda
Michael P. "Mike" Koda, of Blandon, PA, formerly of Darien, CT, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2022, at the age of 79, after a long illness. Mike was born in Stamford on October 6, 1942 to the late Philip and Ann Kowalchyk Koda.
Mike retired from Micro Powders, Inc. in 2008. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching the New York Giants and New York Yankees. He fulfilled his lifelong dream of being able to attend Super Bowl XLII in 2008 to watch his beloved NY Giants.
Mike is survived by his wife, Geraldine "Gerry" Bieber Koda; his three children, Philip Koda and his wife Kate of Stratford, Mary Sutton and her husband Jim of San Antonio, TX, and Jennifer Link and her husband Stuart of Patton, PA. He was predeceased by his first wife, Augustina "Tina" Galiatsos Koda. "Poppy" was a proud grandfather to his eight grandchildren, Stephanie, John, Haley, Morgan, Michael, Christina "Keena", T.J. and Ryan. Mike is also survived by his sister, Phyllis Winslow of Stamford; and his cousin, Joe Bodak of New Canaan.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 9:00-11:00 AM, with a funeral service to be held at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow with Poppy's final resting place at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford.
Memorial donations may be made in Michael's memory to Maidencreek Church, c/o Mission Offering, 261 Main Street, Blandon, PA 19510
