Francis M. “Frank” Rossi, 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 in his West Wyomissing home, surrounded by his loving family. A son of the late Vincent and Emma (Sacco) Rossi, Frank and the love of his life, wife Marie, truly celebrated 68 wonderful years of marriage together. Born in Jeannette, PA, Frank served our nation proudly in the US Army during the Korean War. After his service, Frank worked as a machinist for the Elliott Company, Jeannette, then moved to Reading where he worked for 30 years at Georgia-Pacific, and then at the Reading Hospital, before retiring in 1994. He was always known to be an extremely hard-worker, and quite simply was the kind of man that would do anything to help anyone. Nothing was more precious to Frank than Marie and their family, and he was an incredible “PopPop” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He never missed a family get-together at the Holidays, or special events in each of their lives, always placing their needs ahead of his own. Frank was a devout Catholic and long-time member of the former St. Anthony of Padua RC Church near his home in Millmont. He enjoyed watching sports, particularly football, and was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by four children: daughters Elisa R. Manley, widow of Bruce, Shillington; Catherine R. Francavich, wife of Robert, Grill; Patricia A. Liszcz, wife of Edward, Wyomissing; and son Francis “Frankie” Rossi, husband of Theresa. He will be dearly missed by grandchildren Jillian, Jennifer, Heather, Kyle and Brittany, and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister Mary, widow of Robert Weis, Jeannette, PA, and he was predeceased by a brother, John. The Rossi family would like to thank the incredible caregivers of Heartland Hospice, Maxim Healthcare Home Care Services, Comforting Home Care and Caring Sisters Personal Care, for taking such great care of Frank and the compassion shown their family during this very difficult time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 10:30am at Holy Rosary RC Church, 237 Franklin Street, Reading. Friends may call one hour prior to Mass in the Church from 9:30am-10:30am. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Birdsboro.
