Mays, Bessie Lynn, - of Egg Harbor City, passed on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Born to Vernice Blocker and the late John Alex Blocker in Atlantic City, NJ on October 20, 1961. Bessie is survived by her 3 children, Sidell 'Eggie' Blocker, Brandy Blocker, and Kevin 'Manny' Mays Jr. Two grandchildren, Makayla Dunne and Damien Dunne. Her loving friend Kevin R. Mays Sr. Bessie was one out of 7 loving sisters and brothers. Sister, Vernetta Blocker. Brothers, John A. Blocker, Eric F. Blocker, Norman Blocker, and Brad Blocker. Predeceased by her sister Bridgett 'Kitten' Blocker. Bessie loved fishing, cooking, and enjoying the outdoors. When at home she enjoyed an occasional glass of wine while watching her favorite television shows. Bessie like to go shopping for the best sales and discounts. She worked at the Taj Mahal as a Table Game Supervisor for approximately 10 years. Then, she began working as a Bus Operator for NJ Transit for 15 years where she consistently received perfect attendance awards. Some of her treasured highlights of her life included having a barbeque on the beach with her friends and family, riding her motorcycle, and watching her son Manny's football and basketball games. Bessie was very independent and was a great provider for her family. She was always there for people for whatever they needed and always had the tools to solve the problem. She is remembered as being loving and goal oriented. A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with a service following at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 640 Philadelphia Ave, Egg Harbor City, NJ, 08215.
