Lucy Griffin Obituary

Lucy Grace Beachum Griffin, 89, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2023 after a long battle with dementia.

Born in 1934 in North Carolina, Lucy was the 11th of 12 children born to Ferrell and Alice Beachum. She is predeceased by her parents, Ferrell Beachum and Alice Carpenter Beachum, her husband, James C "Tommy" Griffin, sons, James C "Jimmy" Griffin Jr, Wilson Alexander "Alec" Griffin, and Anthony "Dale" Griffin. She is survived by her son Steven Shane Griffin, wife, Kaye Wrenn Midgett Griffin, grandchildren, JD Griffin, Star Norman, Trevor Griffin, and Cortney Griffin-Shirley, 8 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.

Lucy was a longtime resident of Virginia Beach. She worked for many years at La Vogue by Siefert's and loved fashion and dressing people up. She enjoyed going to baseball games and football games with family and friends and was an avid card player, especially poker with her sister, Bea Williams. Lucy was loved by many and will be missed by all.

There will be a private graveside service for immediate family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6th at Virginia Beach Christian Church, 2225 Rose Hall Dr., at 1pm with a reception to follow.
