Shirley Fink Obituary
Bob and Shirley enjoyed many hobbies together, including fishing in the Straits of Juan De Fuca, cooking Chinese food together, gardening, and playing card games with family. Following retirement, she was an active volunteer at the Port Angeles Chamber of Commerce and also participated in several bowling leagues. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her extensive family, including numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She loved nieces and nephews and stayed connected and supportive of all of them. Shirley will be remembered for her exceptional Christmas cookie baking skills, the enjoyment she had playing (and winning) pinochle games, her enthusiasm about the Mariners and the Seahawks, her love of reading, and her caring and honest communication.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Clallam County Volunteer Hospice or the Boys and Girls Club of the Olympic Peninsula. A reception honoring Shirley Fink will be held at the Port Angeles Yacht Club on Saturday, December 9th, from 2-4 pm with a Celebration of Life beginning at 2:30 pm.

Favorite memory, At 15, Shirley came into my life and was a mother to me exactly when I needed a very special mother. Shirley was at first a strong encouragement for me to sit down, sit still and do my homework. A couple or three years along, as the usual troubled teen, Shirley grew into a trusted councilor, a guide, an advocate for my life, sanity, and future. She helped me become a better person by seeing the good in people, by being more accepting of differing views and by valuing the person above our differences. I will miss Shirley/Mom in this life for a little while but I believe I will enjoy her in the life to come forever.
