Chester Gatten, 87, of Washington, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022, knowing he was very much loved by his family.
He was born August 6, 1934, in Cloverhill, a son of the late Bert and Lucy Liming Gatten.
Chester attended Centerville High School and was the founder and owner of Wolfdale Garage & Auto Parts.
He enjoyed fishing, boating, and other water sports, as well as operating heavy equipment.
On December 22, 1953, Chester married Beverly Rose Barnard Gatten, who passed away March 4, 2020.
Surviving are two sons, Randy (Natalie) Gatten of Bridgeville, and Timothy (Fabiola) Gatten of Washington; two daughters, Sherry (Michael) Auld of Washington, and LuAnn Gossett of Erie; a sister, Lucille Hillberry of California; 11 grandchildren, Lisa Auld, Aaron Gatten, Justin Gatten, Bradley Auld, Cassie Gatten, Jessica Tuttle, Brian Contino, Travis Gatten, Patsy Tranquilli, Jeremy and MacKenzie Gossett; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Chester in death were brothers, James Ernest Gatten, John W. Gatten and Norman Gatten.
At the request of the deceased, all services were private.
Arrangements have been entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
