Carol Ann Batey (nee Barnard), age 80 of Hobart, passed away on July 15th, 2024. She was a graduate of Tolleston High School class of 1962. Carol was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hobart. Carol is survived by her son, Edward Charles (Lisa); and daughter, Susan Elaine; granddaughters, Alyssa Batey and Addison Batey; and her four legged fur babies, Daisy and Dolly. She was an aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a great aunt to Peyton and Riley Craig of Marshall, IL and Bonnie Batey of Casey, IL. Carol is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ronald Edward and daughter, Ruth Ann.
Carol was devoted to her family and immensely proud and her children and grandchildren. She adored her husband with unconditional love. Carol and Ron were collectors of antique cars and loved to go to car shows. Carol will be remembered for her kindness, willingness to help anyone, and her love for her family and animals.

Such a shock, Carol and I went to Tolleston together. She was an upper classman. Her sister Sherry and I were in the same class of 1963. We shared alot of teenage girls fun. Remember when Carol and your Dad married. We all lost a great person.
