Kathy Hayden, 73, of Peru, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022 at St. Margaret's Health in Spring Valley.
The funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Kathy will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 21st, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in LaSalle. Rev. Thomas Otto will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Vincent's Cemetery in LaSalle. Visitation for Kathy will be held on Wednesday, July 20th, at the Barto Funeral Home in Spring Valley from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with additional visitation on Thursday morning at St. Patrick Church from 9:30 AM until the time of the funeral Mass.
Kathy was born on August 18, 1948 in LaSalle to George and Bernadette (Zandecki) Hayden.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in LaSalle, St. Anne Sodality of the church, and the Operating Nurses Association. Kathy was a registered nurse and then worked in nursing infomatics, retiring from the McKesson Corporation.
She is survived by her sister, Beth Snyder of LaSalle; a niece, Lisa Sartin; a nephew, Jeff (Kary) Snyder; 4 great nieces, Hayden, Lena, and Erin Sartin, and Madalyne Snyder; a great nephew, Matthew Snyder; and her furry kids, Toby and Claire.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and her great niece, Meganne Snyder.

Kathy was one of my dearest friends for the past 22 years. She was always so supportive and loving of me and my family and my kids refer to her as Auntie Kathy. She had the biggest heart I have ever known. We shared so many good times, whether going on a trip for work or pleasure, or just sitting in her living room eating popcorn and hug kisses and talking or hours, or of course, watching reality shows or Bears football. I consider her a sister. No words can describe the loss but trust she is now with Jesus, her mom, her dad and sweet Meganne.
