John "Jack" D. Hamilton Jr., 80, of Peru, IL passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022. He was born July 28, 1941, to the late Grace W. Hamilton and John D. Hamilton Sr. in Wheeling, West Virginia. Jack owned and operated the LaSalle Peru Auto-Truckstop and Hamilton's Family Restaurant with his wife, the late Shirley E. Hamilton. He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Craig D. & Debbie G. Hamilton of Fishers, Indiana and their six children, Abigail, Jacob, Lucas, Grace, Noah and Claire; three brothers and sisters-in-law, George James & Wendy Hamilton of Denver, Colorado, Harry Geoffrey "Jeff" & Charlotte Hamilton of Forest City, Arkansas and Joel Brian & Charla Hamilton of Olathe, Kansas.
There will be a memorial service at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Zion U.C.C., 1520 6th Street, Peru, IL 61354, with visitation at the church from 1 to 3 p.m. Cremation arrangements provided by Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion U.C.C.
