MONTICELLO - Debra S. McPheeters, 70, of Monticello passed away at 7:14 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 3, 2024) at home.
Debby was born Dec. 11, 1953, in Monticello, to Richard Lee and Carolyn Ann (Bowdre) Timmons Sr. She married Mark McPheeters on June 17, 1972, in Monticello.
Debby is survived by her husband, Mark McPheeters; daughter, Cristy Shafer; son, Jamie McPheeters (Polly); grandchildren, Samantha Collins (Kyle), Ryan Shankles (Makayla), Carlee Wittig (Bretten), Clay Wittig (Tori), Kristin McPheeters, Catie Wittig and Christopher McPheeters; five great-grandchildren, plus two on the way; her brother, Rick Timmons (Kathy); uncle, Duane Bowdre, and family; nieces, Beth Brown (David) and Megan Jones (Chris), and their families; and many other beloved cousins and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Debby was a retired cook for White Heath School. She was president of the White Heath Community Club and organizer of the Monticello Freedom Fest. Debby enjoyed canning, watching her hummingbirds, and loved cooking for the kids of White Heath Grade School.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 6, at Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello. A graveside funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:30 p.m. at Camp Creek Cemetery, White Heath.
Memorials may be given to the White Heath Community Club. Condolences may be sent to the family at mackey-wrightfuneralhome.com.
