Stephanie Ellen Jackson was a beautiful, loving and caring daughter, mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She was born on July 28, 1956, in Nyack, New York to the late Leroy "Sonny" Jackson and Mattie Belle Alexander. She was called to heaven on March 31, 2022 at 3:15 a.m.
Growing up in the Jackson household as a young teen was adventurous. Always carrying moments of laughter, jokes or loving fights. Upon graduating from Westwood High School in 1974, Stephanie went on to work at Burns and Roe in Oradell, NJ. For nearly five years, she worked as an Administrative Assistant until she had a stroke at the tender age of 23. She was fun- loving, intelligent, gifted, sassy and a true encouragement to all she encountered. She was known by those close to be a straight shooter, yet gentle in nature. Infamously known for her sayings: ' Show them what you know' and ' You're doing the darn thing'; her words will surely be missed. She had a contagious smile and possessed a zeal for life.
Stephanie was the proud mother of Brandon M. Jackson whom the Lord called home at the age of 10. She truly embraced and relished the joy of full time motherhood.
Even after health setbacks, she continued to forge ahead in life and possessed a strong comeback in establishing a successful career as a franchise/ freelance writer. Her brother Bryant Jackson recalls gifting her with her first computer in 2007 and in no time she was an endless author; publishing various writing pieces. Stephani was an avid writer. She published her first book titled Sunrise, Ecstasy, Twilight & Grief: A Poignant Tale of Love, Lust and Loss on the Internet in 2008. She continued to publish a few books. She had a niche for concise verbiage and details. At the time of her death, she was working on her next book to be published in the coming year.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Mattie Belle Jackson; sisters, Linda D. Thomas, Doretha A. Jackson and Debra S. Meekins, nephews LeShay and Andre Jackson, son Brandon Maurice Jackson.
She leaves to cherish her memories and continue her legacy: Aunt Carrie Wright (Bill William) (GA), (GA) brothers,Tyrone Jackson(Tasha) Bryant Jackson (GA). uncles, James Alexander (GA), Tommie Alexander (Texas) Aunt- Emma Alexander (GA), Aunt- Edith Alexander (CA) and three children- Torise L. Hiller (Passaic, NJ), Maurice T. Hiller ( NC), Sherese Hiller Alston (Passaic, NJ) and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, devoted friends and loved ones.
