Shawn Eugene Townsend, Jr., of Cinnaminson, NJ, formerly of Okeechobee, FL, passed away suddenly on January 17, 2022. Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, he was 49 years old.
Shawn was the beloved husband of Rhonda (Barr) Townsend for 18 years; loving father of Christian Townsend (Tangie), Kevin Townsend (Chelsea), and Corey Townsend; cherished "Grampus" of Ivan and Aria; dear son of the late Shawn E. Townsend Sr. and Catherine (Fisher) Townsend; Son-in-law of the late Roger Munsey and Barbara Munsey; brother-in-law of Sue McVeigh (Mike), Raymond Barr (JoAnne), Roger Munsey III (Colleen), Chris Munsey (Beth), Scott Munsey (Debbie), Kate O'Donnell, David Munsey (Anne), and the late Paula Wingate (Mike); Adoring Uncle of Kristen Hawkins, Vicky Barr, who were especially close to him; he is also survived by many other nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends who will miss him tremendously.
Shawn was a United States Marine Veteran. He was a lifetime volunteer as an EMT in Spotswood, NJ, and also served as a Cub and Scout Master in Okeechobee, Florida.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Givnish of Maple Shade, 600 East Main Street, on Monday evening from 7 pm to 9 pm, and Tuesday morning from 9 am to 10 am. A service for Shawn will begin at 10 am, and will be recorded and uploaded to the funeral home website for those who cannot attend.
