Patrick Daniel Miller

Age 51, of Bethel Park, formerly of Knoxville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Patrick was the best friend and husband of 25 years of Cindy (Simmons) Miller; and the best dad to Jacob Alec, Jared Michael, Jenna Caroline, and Julia Elizabeth Miller. Patrick is also survived by his faithful companions Jackson and Cassie, and the late Elvis and Sadie. He was the brother of Carol (the late Richard) Gazzam and William (Sharon) Miller; brother-in-law of Chuck (Liz) Simmons; loving uncle of Paul Miller, Hannah (Orlando) Neal, Nicholas (Kiersten) Gazzam, Natalee Gazzam, Charles Simmons V, Payne Simmons and Bria Simmons; son of late Carole (Welding) Miller-Kautz and William Miller; beloved son-in-law of Mary and Mike Hietsch and the late Chuck Simmons; and childhood best friend of Joe Mendyk, Jimmy Dolan and Mike Dolan.


Patrick was a proud Navy Veteran. He served on the USS Ingersoll. He began his police career as a uniformed officer at Pittsburgh International Airport in 1997. He then achieved his goals of becoming a General Investigation detective then ultimately a detective in homicide. Patrick took great pride in everything that he did. Although becoming a police officer was a dream come true, Patrick's most important role in life was being the best dad to his four children. He beamed with pride at the very mention of any of their names.


He loved spending time with his family and friends, fishing, and singing oldies with his beautiful voice at Slippery Rock Camp Ground. He enjoyed hanging out with his Bethel Park Buddies. Most especially, he loved his wife and kids. He coached all four of his kids and never missed a baseball, softball, basketball, football, or volleyball game. Patrick was dearly loved by his family and friends; he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

McMurray, 724-941-3211, on Sunday, September 26, 2-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Germaine Church on Monday, September 27 at 12:30 p.m., followed by interment at 2 p.m. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors.
