Lucille Mitarotonda Obituary

Lucille Mitarotonda, 94, of Marlboro, NJ passed away on September 15, 2021 at Centrastate Medical Center in Freehold, NJ.
One of 8 children, she was born on March 10, 1927 to Harriet and Chester Barton in Brooklyn, N.Y. Lucille married the love of her life, Rocco, on December 15, 1946 and together they raised their 3 children in Canarsie Brooklyn. Lucille enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling the world, and visiting Atlantic City. She kept active by attending Zumba, Tai Chi, and Yoga classes at the Marlboro Senior Center. She was a member of the Christian Friends and Neighbors group where she enjoyed playing bingo.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lucille is survived by her daughters, Gail and Diane Mitarotonda; sisters, Gladys Codella and Phyllis Mason; six grand children, Nicole, Dana, Tiffany, Ashley, Sean and Larissa; five great-grandchildren, Tommy, Dylan, Skylar, Erica, and D.J. ; and her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 74 years, Rocco Mitarotonda Sr. and her beloved son, Rocco Mitarotonda Jr.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 501 HWY 79, Morganville, NJ 07751.
A graveside service will follow on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 1:45 pm at Canarsie Cemetery, 1370 Remsen Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11236
