Leonard N. Antinozzi of Basking Ridge, NJ passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the age of 81.
Leonard was born in Newark, NJ, the son of the late Jean (nee Engallina) and Leonard A. Antinozzi, and was raised in Irvington, NJ, where he was a 1961 graduate of Irvington High School. Leonard then attended Seton Hall University before leaving to start his business.
Leonard was the proud owner of Lenny & John's Subs in Bloomfield, NJ which he opened in 1971. He continued to work full time until 2012 when he took a step back and turned over the daily operation of the business to his son Bobby, who continues to manage the business today.
Lenny had a passion for music. He was a talented singer and guitarist and was a member of several bands including Bobby Stecher and the Countrymen. He was also a talented craftsman. He loved to build and repair things around the house and was known to be ahead of his time when it came to flipping houses.
Above all, Lenny's greatest love was for his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Dawn A. Antinozzi (nee Buhl); his loving children, Dawn Antinozzi (Jimmy Sroka), Robert Antinozzi (Mireille), Jennifer Koeppen (Craig), and Leonard Antinozzi, Jr. (Angela); His cherished grandchildren, Michael, Giuliana, Jacquelyn, Matthew, Andrea, Leonard, III, and Anthony Antinozzi, Samantha Sroka, and Liam Koeppen; and his dear sister Barbara Mierisch.
The memorial visitation will be held at Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights, NJ on Sunday, April 13th, from 1-4 PM.
