Kimberly Allen Obituary

ALLEN, Kimberly Lynn, 57, passed away Friday, May 27th, 2022 just one day before her 58th birthday.
Kimberly was a locomotive engineer with CSX Railroad. She attended U of L University where she worked as a student trainer for the ball teams and was a high school graduate of Iroquois High School, Class of 1982.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Sally Corey Jarvis; a step brother, Earl G. Paul; and many dear aunts and uncles.
Kim is survived by her parents, Gwendolyn and Earl Paul; father, Fred Allen Jr.; sister, Evonne Paul; and brother, Eric Paul. She shared a sisterly bond with Samantha Bartley. She had many close friends such as Chris Lynch, Kim Fowler, Carla Eaton, Karla Pair, and Debbie Hughes.
She had many cousins including Karen Cummins, Connie Corey, Betty Bryant, Judyth Dawson, Lisa Poole, Laura Harbolt, Leigh Phelps, Lynn Harbolt, Amy Gamblin, Bryan Gamblin, Cheryl Vickers, and Patty Carter.
Kim touched a lot of lives and everyone who knew her, loved her. She never met a stranger. She enjoyed playing sports and watching sports. She volunteered at a soup kitchen to feed the homeless and even bought the ingredients and made chili once a month at a church downtown. She was a very witty and told funny stories. Kim was an animal lover, she adored her dogs, she was an excellent cook, she loved her flowers, she loved her friends and family, especially her mother, and she absolutely loved driving a train for CSX. She will be remembered by many.
Her celebration of life will be held June 1, at Joseph E. Ratterman & Son Funeral Home, 7336 Southside Drive, with burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be Tuesday May 31, from 2-8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ratterman's.
