Age 53, of Mt. Lebanon, on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. Daughter of Matthew T. (Terry) and the late Anna Marie (Nancy) Nee O'Connor. Beloved mother of Owen, Cole, and Julia Descalzi, who survive her, along with siblings Deirdre (Bill), Brendan, and Rory (Carla). Also survived by Aunt Gerry and Uncle Pete Nee, niece Quinn and nephew Donovan O'Connor, cousins Peter and Patricia Nee and families, former husband Douglas Descalzi, and other relatives and caring friends.
Kerry grew up in Upper St. Clair, graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Penn State, and received a master's in education and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Virginia.
She worked for many years as a school and clinical psychologist. Kerry loved her children and pets, was a marathon runner, and enjoyed spending time in nature. In 1988, she was Miss Smiling Irish Eyes of Pittsburgh.
Visitation with family and friends at Beinhauer Family Funeral Home (2828 Washington Road, McMurray) from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Friday, March 15. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, at St. John Capistran Church, 1610 McMillan Road, Upper St. Clair.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Animal Friends (https://www.thinkingoutsidethecage.org/) or Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (https://humaneanimalrescue.org/).
