Kenneth Alton Jones, 55, of Lilburn, GA, passed away July 9, 2022 at Emory St. Joseph's Hospital Atlanta, GA. Kenneth and was born December 1, 1966 to Robert T. and Mary Jo Jones in Shreveport, LA. Kenneth, "Kenny" to his friends, grew up in Clarkston, GA after his family moved from Miami, FL. Kenny loved sports and was a competitive athlete. He was dedicated to wrestling and lettered for four years at Clarkston High School, where he graduated in 1985. In 1988, while working at Thriftown Grocery Store he met Laura, who was to be his future wife. He later found his niche in landscaping, working at Summit Lawn Works as a production manager before starting his own landscaping business. Kenny was an avid deer hunter, a time he enjoyed with his father, brother, and close friends. Kenny loved watching the Atlanta Braves, the Atlanta Falcons, the Alabama Crimson Tide, and eventually grew to love the Georgia Bulldogs. Kenneth is preceded in death by his father, Robert T. Jones (d. 2020). He is survived by his wife, Laura Jones (McCravy), Mother Mary Jo Jones (Sykes), brother and best friend Robert S. Jones (Steve), uncle William Parker Sykes, and many close friends, including: Brandon Baines, Danny Gasser, Tom McManama, Rob Meeks, Zac Real, Pat Schrader, Reeves Stribling, and Drew Williams. Kenny will be remembered as a wonderful and loving husband. He was a beloved son and brother, a "one of a kind" with a big smile who showed kindness to everyone he met. His wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held August 27, 2022. The family would like to thank Suresh S. Ramalingam, MD, FACP, FASCO, and his team of Emory Winship Cancer Institute, David M. Berkowitz, MD, and his team of Emory Winship Cancer Institute, the staff who cared for Kenny at Emory University Hospital on unit 8 Tower North and Emory St. Joseph's Hospital on unit 2 East ICU. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Emory Winship Cancer Institute.
