Jessie Lee Hassan Cousins III, who departed this life on January 25, 2025, at the age of 34.
Jessie was born on November 21, 1990, to Augustine and Jessie Cousins Jr. at Portsmouth General Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia. A dedicated and caring individual, he worked at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center in the dietary department until his health began to decline. Jessie's passion for life was evident in everything he did, from his love of sports-particularly his favorite teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Los Angeles Lakers-to his dedication to his family and friends. He was also a talented, up-and-coming hip hop artist who loved writing music and rapping. Above all, Jessie was a proud and devoted father, deeply involved in coaching his son's team and spending quality time with his children.
Jessie had a unique ability to light up a room with his infectious smile and positive energy. Even on his toughest days, his upbeat spirit remained unwavering, and he was always ready with a kind word or a hearty laugh. His genuine love for people and the joy he brought to others will be deeply missed. Jessie was the type of person who made everyone feel important and loved.
Jessie leaves to cherish his memories his devoted and loving mother Augustine Cousins and father Jessie Cousins Jr. His beautiful Jasiah Amir Cousins (mother, Monica Sumler II) and Triniti Leah Renee Cousins (mother, Rodtrice White). His grandmother Joyce Davis and he is also survived by his dear aunts and uncles, Sabrina (Edward) Ligon, Shelia Peace, Bobby (Porsha) Collins, Bishop Reginald Smith (Pastor Keya Smith) and Johnny (Regina) Deane, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A viewing will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 5-8 p.m. and the funeral service will be on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11 a.m., both at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Great Bridge Chapel, 524 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322. The family requests that the flowers be sent to the funeral home.
Jessie will forever be remembered for his loving nature, his bright smile, and the way he made everyone feel special. His presence in this world was a gift, and he will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
