It is with profound sadness, yet a sense of peace and joy that we honor the life of James R. Warner, known affectionately to many as Jim. Born on October 26, 1937, in
Canton, OH, Jim was a beacon of love, dedication, and humble service. He lived a rich, fulfilling life, celebrating his 86th birthday in the autumn of last year. He cherished his Italian heritage and was grateful for the sacrifice his parents made to immigrate to the United States. Jim was a devoted follower of Jesus, and his faith was the cornerstone of his life.
Jim was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Ida (Tenaglia), whom he married on July 16, 1960. They were married for nearly 64 years! His love for her was sacrificial, always putting her before himself, a testament to his supportive and dedicated nature. A proud father, he was blessed with the joy of his six children and spouses: Jeffrey (Dawn), Michael (Michelle), Scott (Melissa), Valerie, David (Fataima), and Mark (Kris). He found immense happiness in their achievements, was proud of the adults they became, and was a steady pillar of support for them. His sons and daughter, along with their spouses, twenty grandchildren and four great grandchildren carry forward his legacy of faith, family and service. Jim loved his siblings and their spouses: Patricia (Benito) Frustaci, Carole (Bob) Wilder and John (Donna) Warner.
For more than 50 years, Jim served as a pharmacist. He founded Warner's Medical Lab and Warner's Pharmacy. He completed his profession at the Massillon Family Pharmacy. His dedication to his work was recognized with the Pharmacist of the Year award in 1970.
In addition to his work, he served his community. Jim was scout master for Troop 15 in Louisville. He was a member of the Louisville Board of Education from 1986 to 2001, earning the 2001 North East Region Outstanding School Board Member award by the Ohio School Boards Association. A humble man, he was also awarded the 1992 Outstanding Citizen of the Year by the Julliard Masonic Lodge. In 1990, Jim campaigned for the Ohio State Representative seat and was a Rotary and Jaycees member where his contributions were greatly valued. In his leisure time, Jim was an avid runner, a testament to his zest for life. Jim was a man of deep Christian faith and love, wholly devoted to his family and community. He had a genuine love of people and a servant's heart, always ready to help those in need.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James and Violet Warner, step-mother Ann Warner, his brother John Warner, sister Carole Wilder, and grandsons Heath and Chandler Warner.
