James "Jim" Lee Rush passed away November 26, 2024. Mr. Rush was born in Richmond, CA, and he lived his early years in California. He received his Bachelor of Arts and M.A. in Music Education at The University of Southern California. He studied Trumpet performance and specialized in Instrumental Classes. His interests were focused on teaching Symphonic Band. He began his career working for the U.S. Department of Defense teaching the children of those serving on foreign military bases. During his assignment in Bermuda, he met and married his wife, Inez in 1972. Together they enjoyed traveling and spent ten years of their teaching service on the military base in Keflavik, Iceland until they retired in Vermont. Jim and Inez settled in Williston. He enjoyed continuing his trumpet performance in various music venues throughout Burlington and the Williston area. He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez. Jim is remembered by his family as a gentle and quiet man. He was beloved by his family which included many nieces and nephews related to Jim through Inez's family and through Jim's brother, George, who also preceded him in death. Jim's niece, Laura Skinner, would like to thank the following who have been Jim's special friends: David Nemes, Allen Robinson, Tom Licata, and Jason Whitcomb. A graveside memorial service will be held in the Spring of 2025 at Fairview cemetery where Inez is also buried.
