Diane Gibson, 76, died of natural causes on January 23, 2022. She is survived by her four daughters Karen, Michele, Deborah & Denise, sons-in-law Jeff, Ed & Gene, her sister Linda, and brother-in-law Carl, her 10 grandchildren who were her greatest joy and many beloved family members and friends.
Family and music were her two passions, and she devoted herself to both with her whole heart and soul. As a talent manager Diane was fierce and savvy, didn't take "no" for an answer, had an eye for spotting and nurturing young talent and is fondly remembered as the original "Momager."
Diane was born in Brooklyn, and over the course of her life lived in Long Island, NYC, LA, NJ and Florida, with the Florida beaches holding a special place in her heart. She never imagined when she first met and married Joe at the tender age of 18 that her career would eventually take her all over the world to places like England, Rio de Janeiro, Italy, Japan, and Australia and that she would get to see her daughter perform for presidents and royalty and entertain audiences from Madison Square Garden to Wembley Stadium.
As a mother and grandmother, she relished every moment she could spend with her family, always wanting to make sure every birthday, milestone and achievement was celebrated and acknowledged, preferably with a Carvel ice cream cake!
She loved spending time boating with her daughter Michele and her grandsons in Florida, having an Italian "Sunday Family Dinner" with Karen and "LampFam," and breakfast at the diner with Denise and the grandkids. She even enjoyed an adventure or two, taking some of her grandchildren parasailing when they were little and bringing her youngest daughter Denise on a South African safari (managing to remain calm while being charged by a family of elephants!)
Her love for music was something she passed along to her children, with a piano being the very first piece of "furniture" she purchased when she & Joe bought their first home in Merrick. While her children were growing up, she made sure their home was someplace everyone's friends felt welcome, and you could always find kids from choir singing or practicing a play in the family room. Friends quickly became part of the family when Diane was around, and an extra guest or two (or three) at the dinner table was never a problem.
She loved going out to dinner at places where she quickly became a beloved regular, having a Vodka Gimlet (straight up, ice on the side please) and could even be found dancing with her boyfriend John, who brought her such great joy, in between appetizers and dessert!
Her family, friends and loved ones were the most important thing in her life and feel blessed that she got to spend time with each one of them in ways that will leave a lasting legacy filled with love, joy, and music.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Diane's memory can be made to the Actors Fund Home, a top-rated short-stay rehabilitation, assisted living, skilled nursing and memory care facility for performers and behind-the-scenes workers who have dedicated a major portion of their professional lives to the performing arts and entertainment. www.actorsfundhome.org

You know, I have never met this lady, but, I feel like I've known her all my life, just being a fan of Debbie, at a young age, I grew up with them!! I have her video tapes of her concerts, and just seeing them, I feel like a part of me has been taken away too. I loved seeing deb and her mom work, it was beautiful. I'm very sorry for yalls loss. It's so sad, Mrs. Diane will be missed but not forgotten. I'm praying for y'all.

Very sad loss as over all the years watching Diane and Debbie travel around the world together for all the early year concerts. I think of Diane often watching from the heavens as the latest productions are shared with the world. We thank you Diane for your contagious smile. I would've loved to have met you. You're a gem and an angel. Cheers Eileen Burr Morgenstern

Dear Karen, Michele, Deborah, Denise and Linda,
Sending you my loving thoughts of fond memories filled with
laughter. I often think of your mom when I get in my car. She taught me how to drive when she was 8 months pregnant with Karen. I remember one time I was trying to pull out into traffic and she shouted move, dagnabbit! I never hesitated after that.
She is a bright light that will always shine in our hearts. She is always here as she is part of you.
Love, Aunt Virginia, Charlie and Jeannine McAteer
