David "Dave" Allen Stump, 73, of Live Oak, Florida, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at the Lake City Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Paris, Kentucky on April 7, 1949 to the late William Russell Stump and Georgia Singleton Stump.
He has made Live Oak his home since 2016, moving there from Saint Cloud, FL. He was a General Contractor by trade, having owned his own business in Sanford, FL, and also in Trinidad, Colorado, where he lived for a little over 10 years. During his 45 years of building homes, his real passion was building homes for first time homeowners making their dreams come true, and log cabins in the mountains of Colorado. He also worked for the City of Boynton Beach and Saint Cloud as a Project Manager, where he ultimately retired from in 2010. During his years as Project Manager, he was passionate and honored to oversee the building of Fire Stations and Community Centers for the citizens he proudly served.
In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, especially to his favorite vacation spots in Estes Park, Colorado, Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and St. George Island, Florida. Hunting, enjoying the outdoors and FSU Sports were his favorite past times. Many of the special moments of his life were spent with his wife, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren;. He also loved his golden retrievers and music, especially rock-n-roll.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sharyn Stump of Live Oak; daughters, Michele Etcher (Eric) of Keystone Heights and Jennifer Savage (Mark) of Mount Dora and sister-in-law, Cindy Stump of Maitland. Seven grandchildren, Katelyn Etcher, McKenzie Frost (Jimmy), Jordan Etcher, Brandon Dillon (Rachael), Justin Dillon (Bailey), Sean Savage (Victoria) and Niki Savage; Six great-grandchildren, Dakota Dillon, Serenity Dillon, Leonidas "Leo" Dillon, Jaxson Dillon, Remington "Remi" Frost and Harper Dillon along with several nieces and nephews also survive.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Gary Stump.
A Celebration of Life service for Dave will be conducted at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be considered to your local Humane Society in honor of David "Dave" Stump.

My only "Peel Off" partner for 35 years. I will truly miss you. From our Phill Donahue debates too pointing at things in Cades Cove and making people think we saw something. Dave and I would do it over and over laughing cause people were trying to see what we saw. Oh my the great times. Renting cabins sitting by the fire playing train. Dave was one I would go too for investment questions anything he always made me feel confident and strong. I treasured Dave like a big brother. I love you David Stump threw it all he was there anytime. I miss you beyond words. I can always smile when I think of you. He was truly a good man and great friend.
