Bobby Jones Obituary

Bobby Jones Sr., 82, a resident of Pearl, MS, passed away on Sat. July 30, 2022 in Lena, MS. Visitation will be held on Tues. Aug. 2, 2022 from 12pm-1:30pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Graveside Services are 2pm on Tues. Aug. 2, 2022 at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.
Mr. Jones was born on June 14, 1940 in Craig County, OK to the late E.E. Jones and Lillie Harris Jones. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as an MP. Mr. Jones was also a member of the Military Police Honor Guard and was a guard for the National Tour of the Saturn Rocket. Mr. Jones retired after 50 years in the furniture manufacturing business working for MPI, Piper Industries and Baldwin Piano Company. He was a mason and was an active member of the John P. Byrd Masonic Lodge #629 in Pearl, MS. Mr. Jones enjoyed drag racing, coaching youth football and baseball, listening to Southern Gospel Music and traveling back to Perryton, TX where he lived for 8 years of his life when he was a child.
He is survived by his son, Bobby Jones Jr. (Christy); daughter, Julie Jones Tolby (Conrad); four grandchildren, Constance Tolby, Dustin Tolby (Katilyn), Christopher Jones and Cassandra Johnson; six great grandchildren, Bill Brewton, Eli Brewton, Gracilyn Tolby, Kayla Johnson, Bella Johnson, Ava Hutchinson and a brother, Leon Jones (Maggi). Mr. Jones is also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jones and a brother, Charles Newman.
