Born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, Burk was a gentle, fun-loving soul with a tremendous sense of humor that brightened the lives of many. He proudly served in the US Coast Guard, serving in Guantanamo, Cuba and on several lighthouses. Burk lived a long and fulfilling life, working at a variety of professions during before retiring to enjoy his twilight years near the beach he loved. He traveled the states throughout his days, seeing beautiful sights, attending thrilling events and festivals, and accumulating a wealth of captivating stories. He was blessed with many years, and in his time he enriched the lives of many that knew him.
Burk is survived by his beloved wife, Linda G Arnot of Pawleys Island and two sons, Shawn P Arnot of Pawleys Island and Kevin M Arnot ( Tennille), as well as three grandchildren, Hunter Henderson, Harley Arnot and Harris Arnot of Aynor. Burk is also survived by his brother Ernest M Arnot of North Myrtle Beach and his Sister, Jo Ann Johannesen in Morgan Hill, California. Burk was predeceased by his parents, Arthur Arnot and Helen Kimball Arnot, both of Charleston.
A celebration of his life is planned for November 6, 2021 at 3 Pm at the Chapel on Pawleys Island.
