Violet Bradley Obituary

Violet "Sweet" Bradley was born on July 7, 1931, in Butler, Georgia. She was one of 13 children born to the union of John G. Wallace and Nora (née Jessie) Wallace. Violet had a lifelong career as a nutritionist at Good Samaritan Hospital, where she retired after 30 years of dedicated service. She was a cherished daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She departed this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at approximately 1:15 a.m., at Glendale Place Nursing and Rehab Center. As a child, she attended Demascus Baptist Church in Butler, Georgia, where she confessed her life to Christ at an early age. After moving to Cincinnati, Ohio, in the 1940s, and remembering her covenant made in Georgia, she joined The Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She remained faithful in her service there for as long as her health allowed and remained spiritually devoted until the very end. She was united in holy matrimony to Cleveland Tyrone Bradley in 1991 in Cincinnati, Ohio. To this union, one child was born. Although their life together seemed nothing short of perfect, he preceded her in death. Violet was also preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers: Thomas Wallace, James Wallace, Ambrose Wallace, Zebedee Wallace, Ernest Wallace, Johnny Wallace, and Joseph Wallace; five sisters: Doshie Shine, Essie Turner, Marie Shine, Annie Turner, and Melissa Wallace; and a special loving niece, raised as her sister, Dorothy "Dottie" Baldwin. She leaves to cherish her precious memory: one child, Tyrone "Stuff" (Terri "Sweetie Pie") Bradley; step daughter, Wanda Bradley of Fort Pierce, Florida four grandchildren: Tyjae Bradley, Tymiria Bradley, TyAirs Bradley, and Jerry J. Grove Jr.; two great-grandchildren: Juleon and Jaliyah; and a host of loving family members and friends. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Rev. Dr. Donald E. Jones, Officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232.
