John Cryan III Beloved son & brother, tavern owner, 'kind & good-natured,' 31 John F. Cryan III, age 31 of Pittstown, NJ, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, July 17, 2021. John was born in Piscataway, NJ and spent his younger years in Inverness, FL and had lived in Pittstown for the last 21 years. He was the son of the late John F. Cryan, Jr. who passed away on June 2, 2020 and Christine (Ochal) Cryan, of Pittstown. John was a graduate of both Delaware Valley Regional High School and Sage Day High School in 2008. He also attended Marywood University in Scranton, PA. John followed in the footsteps of his grandfather and father by becoming the owner and manager of the family business, Cryan's Tavern in Annandale, NJ. John had an infectious laugh and a beautiful smile. He was an old soul and generous to a fault. He was blessed with the same charming charisma as his father. He was very proud of his Irish Heritage and made several trips to Ireland visiting with his Cryan relatives. John was a die-hard Yankee fan and a collector of sports memorabilia. He was an avid fisherman and a connoisseur of all different kinds of meats and cheese. John also loved spending time with his father watching the Soprano's and Jeopardy seeing who would correctly answer the Final Jeopardy. Besides his mother, Christine, John is survived by his brother, Robert Cryan of Pittstown and his sister Brielle Cryan and her partner, Will Denton of Annandale. He is also survived by his Godfather, James Cryan and his Godmother, Sandra Spencer and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and beloved friends. John will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity and good nature. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 9:30 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Pittstown. Burial will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
