James Andrew Darby, Jr.

James Darby, a former Houstonian of seventy years passed away on June 27, 2025. Born to Charlotte Williams Darby & James A. Darby February 5, 1935 in Memorial Hospital.
James was a graduate of River Oaks Elementary, Lamar Jr. High, Lamar Senior High, Lawrenceville School in New Jersey (1953), Rice University 1958 with a BA and BS in Civil Engineering.
James served in the Army Core of Engineers 1971-1974 then Army Reserves. He was a stock broker at Payne Webber and Jenson and Curtis 1968-1992. He married Holly Willis Darby in 1972. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Houston, and River Oaks Country Club of Houston until 1999. He moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1997 and was a member of Sandia Presbyterian Church, Tanoan Country Club, and the Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by sons: Weston Willis Darby, McKeever Andrew Darby and wife Katie, his grandson James Weston Darby. He is survived by sisters Anne Darby Kennett and family, Charlotte Darby Taylor and Stanley Taylor and family.
