Louis Klebold Obituary

Louis Damon Klebold, of Issaquah, died on April 8th. He was 87 years old. Lou was born on February 19, 1935, in the Ballard area of Seattle Washington, the son of Earl and Ida Klebold. He attended Highline High School before serving his country in the Army, both US and overseas, as Specialist 3rd Class. After the military, he worked as a Manufacturing Engineer and Mechanical Designer for firms Fluke, Sunstrand, Eldec and Teltone, before acquiring his General Contractors license and starting L D Klebold & Sons Construction. In his younger years Lou got his pilot license and would take his family flying in a Cessna. He always had an affinity for golf and was an avid sports fan. He was an animal lover, with great respect for all living creatures and the earth. Lou was a man of few words - but those words were most often funny. He was well known for his dry sense of humor and quick wit. He was a gentle soulful man who loved deeply, underneath a gruff exterior the likes of Clint Eastwood, that could send many a daughter's suiters running for the hills! He had a unique, legendary personality that drew others to him like moths to a flame. He will be missed by his family and friends forever. Lou leaves behind his children Dan Klebold, Carrie Klebold (Mark Dorward), Shaun Klebold (Stacey), Louis Klebold Jr., Elizabeth Goode, Michael Goode, Stephanie Keeton (Max), and Bronte Klebold-Chew; 13 grandchildren (Meaghan, Bryanna, Collin, Isabelle, Owen, Kayla, Cameron, Tiffany, Ashley, Hailey, Taylor, Heather, Lane, and Katelyn; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters Jeanne Giberson (George) and Vera DeRosa; mother to his children Marilyn Forgaard; friend and mother to his children Dona Brunette; and friend, advocate and mother to his child Diane Sperry. He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Ida, and his younger brother Danny, who he tragically lost as a child. Services to honor Lou will be held June 7th at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St. Kent Washington, at 1:00 pm, followed by a gathering at The Rock Woodfire Pizza, 17309 SE 279th Pl. Covington Washington. February 19, 1935 - April 8, 2022
