Donna Elizabeth Schrader, 90, of Jones, Michigan, passed to her rest Nov. 24, 2023, at her home with her family present.
She was born April 1, 1933, in Jones, Michigan, on the family farm, the daughter of Paul Otto and Beulah M. (Christner) Konneck, and has lived in this area all of her life. She had a long working career with C.T.S. in Elkhart as a machine operator.
Her first marriage was to Robert Wayne Roy on April 10, 1953, in Angola, Indiana, and he passed July 25, 1993. She married the second time, Aug. 26, 1995, to Raymond E. Schrader and he survives with her children, Robert Keith (Tonja) Roy of Edwardsburg, Jeffrey Wayne (Cheryl) Roy of Osceola and Debra (Gene) Rogers of Elkhart. There are two step-daughters, Tammy (Jack) Buchan of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and Wendy Schrader of Craigsville, West Virginia. There are eight grandchildren; Jamie Beem, Chad Rogers, Ashley Sparks, Andrew Roy, Skye Roy, Reese Roy, Tara Roy and six step-grandchildren; Sara Buchan, Allison Buchan, Lindsey Dorian, Matt Schrader, Jenny Harris, and Trevor Schrader. There are also five great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
Family who preceded Donna in passing are her parents, one grandchild, Chiale Roy, and all of her siblings, Paulyne Waggoner, Charlotte Troup, Robert Konneck, Paul Konneck, Kenneth Konneck, Dallas Konneck, Victor Konneck and Charles Konneck.
Family and friends may gather on Dec. 12, from 10 to 11 a.m. for a time of visiting with the family at Chapel Hill Missionary Church, 14525 Chapel Hill Road, Union. The Memorial Service will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bob Renner, officiating. Inurnment will follow at Plum Grove Cemetery, Union, in the family grave site.
The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation for the loving care that was given to Donna by the girls with Gentiva Hospice.
