Nancy Johnson Obituary

Nancy M. Johnson, 80, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away on September 28, 2023. She was born on February 4, 1943, in Norfolk, VA, to the late Mary Deans and Claude Marshall.

Nancy was an exceptional human being who embodied kindness, generosity, and a fun-loving spirit. Her selfless nature was unparalleled, and she devoted her life to her family duties, primarily as a homemaker. Her warmth and unconditional love were felt by all who were fortunate enough to cross her path, making her a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her legacy of kindness and love will forever be remembered and treasured.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Stuart Johnson. Nancy was a devoted mother to her daughter, Kelly Stanley, and son-in-law, Hardy Stanley, as well as her son, Robert Johnson, and daughter-in-law, Melanie Johnson. Her three grandsons, Zach Stanley, Ian Stanley, and Evan Stanley, brought her immense joy and pride. Nancy was also blessed with six siblings, including Rosaline Harris, Peggy Strong, Neil Marshall, George Marshall, Michelle Marple, and Alice Yandle, who all held a special place in her heart. She will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews, who will always remember her kindness and warmth. Nancy's memory will be cherished by all who knew her, as she left an indelible mark on the lives of those around her.

A visitation will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg, VA from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. The Celebration of Life will follow in the Nelsen Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Nancy's memory.
