Barry Condon Obituary

Barry Joseph Condon
Barry Joseph Condon, age 66, of Shelton, beloved husband of his high school sweetheart Yvonne Dowling Condon, passed away quickly and unexpectedly on Friday, December 15, 2023. Barry was born in Derby on May 10, 1957, son of the late Thomas and Dorothy (Lourigan) Condon, and was a lifelong Shelton resident.
He graduated from St Joseph High School in Trumbull and Technical Careers Institute. He was employed at Sikorsky Aircraft for 42 years, most recently retiring in March. Barry had a passion for car detailing and loved the challenge, but raising his two sons was the most rewarding.
In addition to his wife of 42 years, he leaves behind his adoring sons Sean and Scott Condon, his beloved daughters-in-law Amanda and Jennifer, and his two grandsons Logan and Jasper, whom he was so looking forward to teaching one of his favorite pastimes, "Clamming."
He is also survived by his brothers Thomas and Douglas Condon, his sister-in-laws Lisa and Lynn, his best friend Michael Brennan, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. In addition to his parents, Barry was predeceased by his sister Sharon.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Thursday from 3 to 7 PM. On Friday his procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church.
Memorial contributions are requested to the American Legion Sutter Terlizzi Post #16, 293 Old Bridgeport Ave., Shelton, CT 06484.

Yonne and family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Barry was a such a wonderful person. We were in the same year at SJ and took many classes together one of them being Mr. Roach's Biology class where we sat next to each other. We had so many laughs. I cannot believe he's gone. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. He'll be missed by many.

My most sincere condolences and prayers to the entire Condon family. Barry was truly someone to have on your team. Grand stories full of pride about his dad and his boys. It was always good to see him coming toward you in the hall at work. Always ready to laugh and grand smile I won't soon forget. I am richer for having known him God Bless my friend.

Yvonne, Sean, Scott and your precious families,
Barry was simply one of the kindest human beings. Always smiling, always laughing, and the kind of man who would be the first to give you the shirt off his back. I only wished I had the joy of spending more time with him and with all of you. For my sister Donna, brother-in-law Tom, our parents Grace and Dick, my niece Lindsay and nephew Steve, I know that Barry was like a family member to each of them. For more than 30 years I would hear of the fun, crazy, and special memories you all made together! You were so much more than neighbors. You were family. My heart breaks for all of you and I wish you some measure of peace in the weeks and months ahead as you grieve his sudden and tragic loss. I love you all. My prayers are with you.
