Sincere condolences, Bruce was a wonderful human as I got to know him on 3 different cycling trips to Europe. Keep him close to your heart in all the wonderful experiences you shared.

I rode many miles with Bruce over the years in Europe. He was always a great riding companion, but I regret that I never had a chance to see him in his home environment. He was very focused when on vacation! I could always count on him to ride with me in bad weather that discouraged everyone else. I can sum up his attitude with one sentence: "I came here to ride my bike, not to eat cheese!" This was said when he was off to climb a mountain while the rest of us visited a farm. It was both a sly, self-deprecating joke and absolutely true. I miss him greatly.

Bruce was one of the smartest guys I have ever known. He was devoted to Jan and his family, you couldn´t find a better person or Cubs fan. May his memory be a blessing for his family

I remember him from a Bicycle Illinois in 2010. A riding animal - I'd be pulling in for the end of the day and Bruce already was there by a good 4 to 5 hours. My condolences to a man who lived a great life on his terms.
