Ethel was a classmate and neighbor of mine from elementary school through high school. I am sorry to find out late about her passing. She and the Boysaw family were wonderful neighbors and friends. I will be eternally grateful for her visits with my late sister in the nursing home. God has another angel.

To the family I offer my sincere condolences to you on the loss of your love one. I was blessed to have known her as a patient, and as a co-worker. Ms. Smith truly was a loving person. Because of the nature of my illness before I was employed at The VA Medical Center, she just had a loving and comfortable spirit about her. After I was hired at the VA, each time she saw me she will always say to me that I was blessed. I truly was Blessed to have had the opportunity of knowing her. Rest In Peace Ms. Smith. You truly earned your wings.

Ethel was a sweet, kind person, a good friend, a helpful co worker, a caring nurse. Our parents knew each other long before we were born; however, our friendship blossomed as we worked together at the VA Hospital in Birmingham. Ethel, I had no idea that when we talked in the spring, that would be our last conversation on this side. Rest in the arms of our Lord now. Farewell. May God grant peace and comfort to the family at this most difficult time. Shirley C. Miller and family
