Donald Slaughter Obituary

Donald Graham Slaughter, 86
Donald Graham Slaughter, noted Neurosurgeon, passed away on May 14, 2024 at his home in Woolford, MD.
He was 86. He was born November 16, 1937 in Augusta, Georgia to Dr. Richard Franklin Slaughter and Jean Graham Slaughter.
Graham practiced at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Union Memorial Hospital and GBMC.
He is survived by his wife, Judith A. Slaughter, and four children, Donald Graham Slaughter, Jr. and wife Vicki, Jean Graham Slaughter Gearon and husband Christopher, Anne Harrison Slaughter Carter and husband Paul, Jennifer Green Gensler and husband David.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren Matthew Martin, James (Jake) and Katherine (Kate) Gear-on, John, Elizabeth and Sarah Carter, and Annabelle, Caroline and Mollie Gensler, his brother Charles C. Emmons, Jr. and wife Margie, and nephews Richard Slaughter and wife Mary, David Slaughter and wife Blair, and William Slaughter, Beth Emmons and husband Ben, Charles C. 'Chip' Emmons, III and Rachel, Matthew Emmons and wife Heide and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition, he leaves behind his best bud George Fox and his faithful Golden Retriever Woolford. Graham was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Elizabeth Hooker Slaughter and a brother Richard Franklin Slaughter.
Graham was an amazing photographer, model boat builder, and waterfowl carver. He was a great supporter of the Dorchester Center for the Arts and its efforts to provide access to "Arts for All!"
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Dorchester Center for the Arts – 321 High Street, Cambridge, Maryland 21613 or the Dorchester County Family YMCA, Inc., 201 Talbot Avenue, Cambridge, Maryland 21613.
A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 12th, 2024 from 12 Noon to 2:00 p.m. on the 2nd floor in the Todd Center for Performing Arts at the Dorchester Center for the Arts, 321 High Street, Cambridge, MD 21613. Graham's final resting place will be at Old Trinity Church Cemetery in Church Creek, Maryland. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
