Neil Brayton Obituary

Neil W. Brayton of Chestertown, MD, passed away on July 14, 2022 from ALS. He was 77 years old. Neil was born on July 21, 1944 in Youngstown, Ohio to Margaret and John Brayton. Neil graduated from Liberty High School in Youngstown, Ohio in 1962. He was a gifted athlete. He played basketball for the University of Maryland Terps from 1962 to 1966. He received a BS degree in 1966, and a DDS degree in 1970 from University of Maryland. He was an Army dentist in Germany for 3 years. In 1975 he set up a dental practice in Chestertown, Md. His patients became his friends for life. He worked to make it a fun and painless experience for all. Neil is survived by his wife, Robyn, and their children, John Brayton (Samantha), Allison MacKinnon (Cyrus), and Douglas Brayton (Meghan) and a brother, John Brayton, two sisters, Margaret Elliott and Kathleen Kurlander and ten grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 2 PM at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Chestertown, MD. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Chester River Yacht and Country Club from 5 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ALS Research.
