Joseph DiPietro Obituary

Joseph Vincent DiPietro, 89 of Baltimore, passed away on July 5, 2022, of natural causes. He is survived by his is wife of 65 years Theresa Marie DiPietro (nee Incaprera), as well as three sons: Salvatore DiPietro of Lutherville, Michael DiPietro (Elena) and Christopher DiPietro, both of Baltimore as well as five grandchildren and one great-grandson. A private funeral service was held on July 8th at Druid Ridge Cemetery.

The fourth of five children, Joseph grew up on Pinkney Road in Northwest Baltimore. After graduating from Calvert Hall College and serving in the US Army, Joseph had a 40-year career with the Beneficial Corp. last serving as its regional government affairs director. He attend the University of Baltimore, completing both his undergraduate and law school programs at night. He was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1963.

Upon retirement he and Theresa moved to Kent Island where he was elected as Orphan's Court Judge for four consecutive terms. A lifelong devotee to the Chesapeake and a gifted craftsmen in his own right, his hobby was constructing replicas of Chesapeake Bay workboats, many of which are displayed in Eastern Shore restaurants. He and Theresa returned to Baltimore in 2018 and resided at the Springwell Senior Living Community.
