Elsie Johnson Obituary

Elsie Clara Johnson passed peacefully on Thanksgiving morning, November 23, 2023, with her loving husband Wesley P. Johnson by her side.

Survived by her devoted husband Wesley, her daughter Marci Weigle, daughter-in-law Tammy Johnson, grandchildren Brittany Carmen wife to Patrick Carmen, Taylor Maher wife to Patrick Maher, Ryan Weigle, Ty Johnson, and Cara Johnson partner to Colby Holder. Also survived by great grandchild Thomas Maher, as well as her soon to be second great grandchild expected in April.

Born in Bismarck, North Dakota in 1938, only child to Clara and John Weixel. Elsie met the love of her life, Wesley Johnson in North Dakota, married at 19 years old and spent the next 67 years as husband and wife.

Elsie traveled with Wesley from the cold of North Dakota to the dry heat of Albuquerque, New Mexico where she had two children, Marci Weigle and the late beloved David Johnson.

Elsie, known to her grandchildren as 'Mummum' and 'Grandmom' then settled in Glen Arm, MD. The Johnsons continued to have roots in Maryland while also living in Florida, Texas, Albuquerque, and Delaware.

Elsie was a kind and beautiful soul that is unmatched. Her smile could not only light up a room but light up your life. She loved her family and the Lord immensely. For those who had the gift of meeting her know she will be truly and wholeheartedly missed.
