MICKLESON, Brendan Hilary:
Completed his final horse trek across the Great Divide on Wednesday, July 20 2016. Aged 73 years. Devoted and admired father and father-in-law of Aaron, Justin and Adrienne, Bridget and Andrew and loved by his former wife Sue. Beloved grandfather of Erin, Emma, Korbyn, and Grace. Eldest and loved son of the late Patricia and Basil Mickleson, and brother to the late Desmond Mickleson and his family. Survived by his brother Kerry and sister Roslyne and her family. Great trekking companion to his horses Paddy and Xena. In Lieu of flowers Brendan's family request donations to be made to Nazareth Rest Home, P.O. Box 4233 Wanganui 4541, in appreciation of their selfless dedication and exemplary support they have provided during Brendan's stay. Messages can be sent to [email protected]

Friends are invited to a funeral service for Brendan in St Mary's Catholic Church Taihape on Friday, July 29 2016, at 1pm, followed by interment in the Taihape Cemetery. Rosary will be recited in the church on Thursday evening 28 July 2016, at 7pm.

We never met Brendan but saw many of his great qualities described by others in his son, Aaron.
