Our condolences to Anna , Anthony, Aleida, Gill, Kerry and family.

Firstly our sincere apologies for not being able to attend today's celebration of Chris's life.

Our father Allan, who passed away in June 2012, was Chris's first cousin. They kept in regular contact and both Mum and Dad always enjoyed Chris coming across to Nelson for his relatively frequent trips. When they were more active they also enjoyed travelling to Wellington and staying with Chris out in the Hutt Valley

Allan was bought up in an orphanage with his older brother. He didn't really have a lot to do with his relatives with the exception of Chris. There was a warm instinctive bond between the two.

Our Mother, Alice passed away a year ago this week. Chris kept in contact with Mum which she really appreciated, as did the rest of our family.

We had a small family get together a couple of weeks ago. We were looking through a lot of old photos of Dad's family. A lot of the photos we weren't able to put names to. I said that next time I'm in Wellington I will look up Chris and see if he could shed some light on some of the photos. Unfortunately I won't be able to do that with him.

Chris was a great bloke. We could go months or so without seeing him but when we would catch up with him again he would remember everyone's names, kids, wives and partners. He could recall where we worked and what dramas were going on in our lives. He made a real effort to part of our family's life.

We will miss him.
