Colin MORRISON Obituary

MORRISON, Colin:
7.11.1927 - 5.11.2020
Died peacefully after a well fought battle with cancer and dementia. Loving husband to June (formerly Franklin, nee Davis). Stepfather to Ian Franklin, and loved grandfather to Annette and John Franklin. Master to his most talented and loved sheep dogs, especially his favourite George. Many thanks to the special staff at Woburn Rest Home (Waipukurau) who've taken such good care of Colin the past 12 years. Colin was farewelled at a private memorial service on November 10th. His ashes will be interred at the Memorial Forest, Waipukurau. In lieu of flowers Colin would appreciate donations to St John. Messages to the family can be sent to 55 Bridge St, R.D.1, Ongaonga 4278.
"So while in life we've all obliged to play so many roles, I'd like to spend eternity with others playing bowls".

Our Sincere Condolences to Colin's extended family. My Husband and I first met Colin when we moved from Napier to Takapau sixteen years ago. Being near neighbours Colin frequently called in on us sharing produce from his garden, Grapes from his very productive vine and if he had nothing else to offer he would appear with a single flower from his garden. We were delighted for him when he got his wish to go into Woburn and visited many times over the years, sampling the forbidden goodies from his hidden pantry cupboard in his bedroom. Our visits ceased when My husband became unwell, but we still received a Christmas card which ceased about three years ago. On our last visit we noticed Colin's memory of our friendship had all but vanish, and even though he didn't remember times shared, he was still the same delightful man we had known over the years. Rest In Peace Colin, we still speak of you often and remember you with love.
