I am so sad for all the family at the news of Roberts death. He was an old friend, always warm and welcoming, charming and very much, to me, the personification of a real Englishman. I have so many memories of him and Jocelyn at shared events and parties in Eastbourne and their personalities remain with me as an important part of my life's history. I feel for your sadness at their passing but you must be comforted by the joy and interest they received from sharing and being part of such a loving family. Robert talked so often of you all and your families and it was with great pride.
My thoughts and sympathy are with you all. My children want me to pass on their sympathy as well they were all very sad to hear of his death
God be with you until you meet again
